Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
Access to clean water, safe sanitation, and good hygiene practices is essential for a healthy life, yet many rural communities in eastern Rajasthan still face serious challenges in these areas. At Daang Vikas Sansthan (DVS), we are committed to improving WASH conditions through awareness, infrastructure support, and community-led solutions.
Our WASH interventions are integrated with health, education, and livelihood efforts to ensure that basic hygiene and sanitation become part of everyday life—especially for women, children, and marginalized families.
Our Core Activities Include:
- Community education on safe hygiene practices such as handwashing, menstrual hygiene, and sanitation
- Construction and promotion of household toilets to reduce open defecation
- Safe drinking water initiatives, including handpump repair, water testing, and rainwater harvesting
- Support to schools and anganwadis for improved WASH facilities
- Training of local volunteers and school children as WASH champions
- Advocacy for water access and sanitation rights in public programs and policies
By addressing both behavior change and infrastructure gaps, DVS works to create healthier, more dignified living environments across rural Rajasthan.
